Katherine Perez joined the LaSalle team in October 2022 as the Director of the Brothers House Unaccompanied Children Residential Program (UC). Katherine has a strong record of community involvement, especially with the Latinx and immigrant population from the Capital Region. This experience has allowed her to develop a unique understanding of the needs of this community and how best to provide the necessary support.

In her current role, Katherine is responsible for the development of a UC program, funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement. This program aims to provide short-term shelter and family reunification services to male youths between the ages of 12 and 17; who are under the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement. Along with these services, the program will provide educational, therapeutic, recreational, religious/spiritual, and medical services to ensure the comprehensive care of the children in their care. Overall, Katherine’s extensive experience and commitment to serving the needs of the community will undoubtedly be instrumental in providing high-quality services to the young boys in the UC program.

Katherine earned her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, and her master’s degree from the School of Social Welfare at the State University of New York at Albany in 2016.
